Install Aperture 2 with 256 MB RAM

"I decided one day to try out Aperture 2"

I can't see this being of any use other than to see what the interface looks like. In actuality, the Aperture team set that minimum requirement for a good reason: Aperture is quite the resource hog and has had a history of performance problems on anything but the fastest and most RAM-equipped machines. Despite owning Aperture, I almost exclusively use Lightroom because I can use it even on a MacBook without issue.

Anyway, it just brings me to my final thought: What, Sir, are you doing running an OS X machine under Tiger (or possibly Leopard) with only 256MB RAM? You must have a load more patience than most of us, and I'm positive your hard drive would be most grateful if you took some of the load off it. RAM is inexpensive these days - try for example.*
