iTunes 11: Keyboard shortcut to add songs to Up Next queue Apps
We posted two ways to quickly add songs to the Up Next queue in iTunes 11, but there's also a keyboard shortcut you can use. Select one or more songs, then press Option-Return. This adds the songs to be played next.

Nice hint. It's a pity though, that when you already have some songs in the up-next queue, you are being asked what iTunes should do with them. Since the choices actually refer to the already-existing titles in the queue, they are quite misleading:

  1. play the title(s), i.e. play the existing queue and add the selected title(s) at its end
  2. abort
  3. delete the title(s), i.e. replace the current queue by the selected title(s)
    1. Strangely enough, the last one is the default choice. At least with German as system language, pressing T (without any modifier key) gets you the first one.

This actually works for podcasts and other non-music media, but only if you're looking at them in a playlist. What a mess iTunes has become in the name of "simplification".
