Now that Apple has presented the iPhone 5, will you buy one? It's an evolution, not a revolution, and many people won't see the need to upgrade. In addition, lots of iPhone owners get subsidized phones and are stuck with contracts. What about you? Vote in the iPhone 5 poll.

New Poll: Will You Buy an iPhone 5?
So I did the eligibility check and it said that I would have to pay a $250 fee if I upgrade before May 6th, 2013. I have always upgraded to the latest on release day and have since the first iPhone. So I am not sure if this magically clears up on launch day or not. If I have to wait until May 2013 then that might mean my contract ends and I might consider switching to Verizon to get the FaceTime over LTE.

Doesn't that stink?

Really? Have you looked at the price of an unlocked iPhone? Why don't you just buy one like that? Once you commit to a contract, you commit to its conditions. ---

Do you still sign up for subsidized/locked in contracts in the US? The 90's called and want their business model back. Ridicolous. ---

Still using iP4 because of a contract with T-Mobile. Eligible to upgrade to iP5 as of October 2012, and I will do it as soon as possible.
New Poll: Will You Buy an iPhone 5?
I have gotten every iPhone on the day it was released because each iteration has improved on its predecessor and I can afford to pay for the early upgrades. Never have I felt that I would rather have my 200-250 early upgrade fee back, instead of giving up the better features and performance for a year. I think it is needless to say that the iPhone 5 is an evolution instead of a revolution. The Revolution is the iPhone. Every iteration is an evolution. I am unsure I can think of a better way to do a phone fundamentally, and I doubt that there will ever be another revolution in a physically form factor. Maybe Glasses, but I bet direct brain implant will be the next revolutionary thing. ---

Only because my wife wants my iPhone 4 :-)
My wife has yet to jump onto the smartphone wagon, and ever since her new job (and new commute), she has been eyeing my iPhone 4. Luckily, my current contract expires in mid October. So at that time, the plan is for me to get a new iPhone 5, and she will inherit my iPhone 4. ---
