10.7: Open/Close folders in List View in slow motion Desktop
I am almost 99% sure that this is new in Lion. If you have a folder that is closed in Finder (list view), or even in Xcode. This folder is represented with a black triangle on the left side. So, if you click that triangle, the folder expands and shows its contents.

But if you click on the triangle with the Shift key pressed, you see that expansion/contraction in slow motion. This is one of those OS X hidden pearls.

[crarko adds: I tried is in Snow Leopard and could not reproduce the effect. Some Finder engineer at Apple must really get a kick out of the Shift key = slow motion effect model.]

Or if you really want to have fun, you could hold option while you click the arrow, and watch as all the subfolders expand too. Now, I'm in 10.6, so I can't see the slow motion effect, but I wonder what happens if you hold shift and option...

Unfortunately, alt-shift does not invoke special behavior in Lion, the animation is shown in normal speed.

Clicking multiple arrows directly after each other, and opening/closing multiple folders gives a funny mixup of the content going up and down. This is even more obvious for the sidebar.

I just read this, and just "had" to try it, it works fine on my MacBook Pro 2009 running SL 10.6.8! But the slow animation is really, reaally sloooow.

In iTunes, with a device connected:
display the Apps and hold the shift key while re-organizing the folders and apps on a screen or while dragging them between screens: slow motion...
