10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
Oct 27, '11 07:30:00AM • Contributed by: Anonymous
I think this is new in 10.7. When holding down Command+Tab to switch applications, the selector now stops at the last application in the row. To loop back around, you need to release Tab and press it again. This is useful if you know you want the last application in the row because you don't have to worry about overshooting it.

10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
It appears to be new. On 10.6.x, holding Cmd-Tab down loops through the list of open applications continuously. On 10.7.x, holding Cmd-Tab down stops at the end of the list. And Cmd-` stops at the beginning of the list.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
Checked this on two of my Macs, both running 10.7.2. Command-tab continues to cycle from last item back to first item, same as always.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
Holding down Command+Tab stops at the end. Holding down Command and repeatedly pressing Tab cycles.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
crarko: Yep, it's new. 10.6.8 loops, 10.7.2 does not.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
Yes, 10.6 wraps.

10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
In 10.6, you can also just hold down the right arrow key--it stops at the end.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
I'm on 10.7, I haven't changed the involved settings (as far as I can tell), but the Cmd+tab bezel loops... So I'm guessing there's a setting behind this.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
I'm using 10.7.2 on a 2009 17" MBP and Cmd-Tab still wraps for me. Wonder if it's a preference somewhere?
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
I'm running 10.7, and it wraps around for me.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
Command + Tab does not stop at the end on my machine but continues to loop around indefinitely. I'm running 10.7.2.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
It works the old way of looping on my version of 10.7.2, doesn't stop at the end. I have just done an upgrade to Lion so i suppose its possible that the mentioned post will apply if one does a new clean install. Seems strange though if thats the case.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
Unless you consider a "not clean" installation can keep preferences files from the previous installation, and there's an hidden setting to allow looping (seems obvious, because some report it loops, some report it doesn't, so unless a preferences telling that, I don't see a pattern).
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
I'm on 10.7.2 and Command-Tab loops. No stopping at the last app.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
10.7.2 wraps for me just the same as 10.6.x did.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
Same here. Clean Lion install upgraded to 10.7.2. Wraps as it always has done.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
It wraps when you don't keep the tab button pressed. If you keep it pressed, it will stop at the end (or at the beginning when using Shift).
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
Now here's a first. I never use Command-Tab with holding Tab down. That moves way too fast for me. So I didn't check for that behavior.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
Was obvious, but only you noticed why people reported different behaviours! Nice!
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
Thanks for that delightful compliment!
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
You're welcome!
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
Stops for me (Late '08 MBP 17" 10.7.2). Note that if it does stop, you don't have to Shift to go all the way back to the beginning - just hit TAB once more and it will loop back to the first app. I personally think this new behavior is brilliant.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
An alternate (and presumably well-known) way to reverse (and still use just a thumb and one finger) is to keep holding Command down after you invoke the App Switcher with Tab then switch the finger that was tapping/holding Tab to the key just above it (it has a ` with a ~ above it).
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
It stops for me (10.7.2, upgraded 10.6.8 to 10.7.0) and definitely wrapped in 10.6. Well, I only used the wrapping for fun while watching progress bars and such, so no big deal to have lost this. :-)
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
Wraps for me as well, luckily as I am quite not amused by the fact that it stopped wrapping at several places, like some alert sheets (I have the keyboard access enabled). ---
this is not the sig you`re looking for.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
This is new and cool. However, I would recommend an easier way to get to the end: use cmd-tab, and then press ` instead of tab. That will immediately take you to the last item.
10.7: Command+Tab now stops at the end of the bezel
It was buggy in 10.6. Sometimes it wrapped, sometimes not. Very annoying. I prefer wrapping, you can always go back with ⌘⇧⇥ ---

crarko: yes, this is definitively new. I was looping around in SnoLep while talking with someone on the phone or just as fun. Lion took away my playground :-(

I really preferred it zooming around and around actually. |
