Unlike the previous built-in slideshow screensavers, Lion's slideshow screensaver is pausable by hitting the spacebar. In previous system versions, hitting any key would stop the screensaver. This is handy when people ask 'where is that,' etc.

10.7: Slideshow screensaver can be paused
The Arrow keys (left right) will allow you to cycle through your pictures with or without the slideshow paused via the space bar. This has been the ultimate "What was that" fix
arrow keys
Once paused, the pictures can be stepped forward and back with the arrow keys.
10.7: Slideshow screensaver can be paused
Additionally, you can actually select and play music by clicking on an album cover in the iTunes Album Artwork screensaver. The unfortunate trade-off for this new behavior is that you no longer can wake up your computer's display by moving the mouse when you use a screensaver. That just pauses the screensaver and the screen stays black. You now have to either press a key or click the mouse to wake up the screen. Edited on Aug 04, '11 04:32:01PM by michaelj

10.7: Slideshow screensaver can be paused
Has anyone figured out how to pause the mosaic screen saver (the one where the pictures morph into each other using other pictures in your library as "pixels")? |
