10.7: Have Spotlight show Last Opened Date and/or File Path System 10.7
Opening Spotlight (Default Cmd+Spacebar) and typing any search term brings up the standard Spotlight list of results.

Highlighting a result will bring up a sort of Quick Look or preview window to the left of the search results list.

Pressing the Command key will popup a dialog bar in the bottom of that preview window showing you the 'Last Opened' date. If you continue to hold the Command key, the dialog box will then scroll to show the File Path for the particular result.

Pressing the Option key after the and with the Command key will toggle between 'Last Opened' and the File Path much more quickly.

[crarko adds: When I tried this what I saw was a toggle between the file name and the path. Post your results in the comments please.]

My results are the same as Crarko. I do not see how to make the last-used date appear. That being said, this is still useful info about where to find the results (or even get a link of a recent website). Perhaps there is a setting that the poster has set that had unintended or unremembered consequences here.

Add the option/alt key to the CMD key and you see the location of the file/e-mail message/etc. Really neat.

Thank you!
I was missing the file path in the spotlight results so badly...

Ditto -- I can't make it show me "Last Opened" -- it toggles between file name and path.

What it shows first seems to be dependent on your search terms. It's showing you how that file matched your search.

If I searched for "date:today", then it shows me when the file was last opened. If I search for a word, it shows me the name of the document with the word highlighted. For email results, it shows me "Content: ....", "Attachment name: ...", or "From: ..."

Web page results I get URL or Content. For contacts, I get Name, City, Country, etc.
