Refresh Corrupted Top Sites Web Browsers
Have you ever experienced an outage of your Internet connection? Has your router been confused? Sometimes the Top Sites wall gets pretty corrupted, the site previews are all showing errors - or they just seem to be a bit outdated. There is a very Apple-like Solution.

After you have fixed your network-related issues, just go to your Top Sites and hit Command+R (or click on the reload arrow in the right of the URL bar).

[crarko adds: Yes, it's kind of obvious but sometimes the obvious things are the ones we miss. I'll put this up with the likelihood that it will help somebody out.]

Something interesting that I have noted about Top Sites is that, while I have ClickToFlash installed and I've recently noticed that in my Top Sites wall that the thumbnails of the pages contain the static images from the flash content that was running on those sites at the last refresh. In other words, it looks like Safari captures top site thumbnails in a way that circumvents the ClickToFlash plugin.

I hadn't realized that the top sites page could simply be refreshed to fix all the "site unavailable" and other error messages experienced during connectivity issues, so this is a modestly useful hint (although I've found those sites often refresh their Top Sites thumbnails as I visit them - so I've never really had the need to refresh all of them at once.)
