Many of you probably know that you can create a Smart Folder in iPhoto to cull all of your photos that contain unidentified people. The condition for this Smart Folder is: 'Face' + 'is' + 'unnamed.'

This is a handy way to find and label these photos.

Unfortunately there does not seem to be an obvious set of conditions for a Smart Folder to cull photos lacking an assigned location.

Try the following Smart Folder conditions: 'Place' + 'does not contain,' and for the third field, leave it blank (with no spaces).

Every picture that's culled into the resulting Smart Folder should be ones that lack Place info.

If you assign a location to one of the photos, it should then vanish from the Smart Folder.
