Martin Luther King is someone against apartheid, if I remember my math teacher's digressions. Right?

Martin Luther King was the central figure in the US civil rights movement of 1950's and '60's. He was assassinated in 1968, after a long and contentious period of activism for equal rights for African Americans. Jim Crow (a policy in the deep south through the '60s that strictly segregated races) was similar to Apartheid (a system of racial segregation in South Africa that persisted into the 1990s), but they were not the same.

The wikipedia articles on the issues - Martin Luther King and apartheid - should give you a better understanding of the topics.

Thanks Ted. Lest we forget racism, because it does ugly stuff to society.
