New Twitter.app for Mac -- Bugs and Fixes

Some users are finding that the new Twitter application (available through the Mac App Store) for the Mac is missing some features.

Namely:

On first launch, with no accounts connected to Twitter.app, you are able to create an account with your Twitter email address connected to your account, in place of your @username. Doing so, breaks these features. The simple fix is to remove your account and put it back in with your @username rather than your email. 2br Interestingly, Twitter doesn't allow you to use an email address to add additional twitter accounts and requires you to use your @username with a warning message that pops up if you put in an email address. It doesn't do this on first launch when there are no accounts attached.

Also, to enable the old Tweetie.app way of hitting Esc key to cancel a new tweet enter the following in Terminal:

defaults write com.twitter.twitter-mac ESCClosesComposeWindow -bool YES

Lastly, another small error is that Twitter in its menubar icon drop down menu lists the 'New Tweet...' shortcut as Command+A even though it is actually Command+N.

[crarko adds: I tested this, and it works as described. I have to say I do prefer the old Tweetie application to the new Twitter.app, but that's progress I guess.]
