Fix for Internet Radio Dropouts

Many Internet radio listeners report problems with dropouts, and have to re-select the station again in order to continue the radio broadcast. This is particularly annoying when listening to radio away from the computer, so that you have to go back to the computer to re-select the station. Here is a work-around for that problem.

Simply place the cursor dead-center on the iTunes station selection, and take a wireless mouse with you to the remote location (first covering the sensor under the mouse with dark tape, so that it doesn't accidentally move the cursor).

Then simply double click from anywhere in the house to re-select the station. Of course, this takes a second mouse, since the first one remains with the computer. I use a USB keyboard with my Mac, so the Mac wireless mouse is available for use as the 'remote' mouse. I hope this helps with your dropout problem.

[crarko adds: I haven't tested this one. The Apple Remote app for iOS should also let you do this, although you have to save a shortcut to the radio station in a playlist in order to see it in the app. I think Front Row could also do this, but you generally need to have a line of sight to the Mac for the infrared signal to work.]
