Avoid crossfade between select songs in iTunes Apps
By default, iTunes will crossfade between songs, blending the end of the current song with the beginning of the next song. You may already know that you can disable this for classical music or other albums by selecting all the songs in the album and checking the 'Part of a gapless album' option in the track info (Command+I).

But you can also disable the crossfade on individual tracks (such as an Intro that fades into the rest of the song). Just make sure you set this option on both tracks.

iTunes will then skip the crossfade whenever both tracks have this option set, effectively disabling the fade when you play the album in order, but not when shuffled or separated in a playlist.

[crarko adds: I tested this, and it works as described.]

Are you stupid or what? There is a setting (I think it is disabled by default) in iTunes preferences for crossfading songs. Try disable that before posting stupid "hints".

That tone is uncalled for. Don't repeat it.

That preference is a global setting; this hint specifically is pairwise between two songs. I think those are different things.

Dude, relax! The hint is helpful to some people. If it isn't helpful to you, you don't have to read it.

The poster is not stupid, the hint is not stupid, and you are verbally abusive.

The real hint is that the per-song setting, "part of a gapless album" setting should really be called "no crossfade to other 'no crossfade' songs"; or it should be reversed in sense, possibly checked by default, and labelled "allow crossfade".

It's not that this isn't in the manual, it's that the manual is confusingly written.

I absolutely agree! I never knew what that checkbox did until I saw this hint!
