This may or may not be new but I never noticed it until iTunes 10. I was downloading a podcast and noted that in the Downloads area in the iTunes sidebar the 'X mins remaining' status and clicked on the actual text by accident. Doing this added the current rate as the podcast was being downloaded to the display. Like I said before, this may be old news but definitely cool if it's just been added.

This has probably been around a while, but I didn't see it documented here. As mentioned in this previous hint, it can be worth it to monitor the bandwidth usage in case you have some other bandwidth-hungry application running.]
