iTunes 9.2 adds Undo & Redo commands Apps
Most applications have Undo and Redo commands, and iTunes has long had them available when editing song tags. Beginning with iTunes 9.2 (the latest version is 9.2.1), offers Undo and Redo commands which can be applied to songs which have been removed from or added to a playlist. Note, though, that these commands will not work for songs which have been removed from the Library.

As always, Undo is available from the Edit menu and can also be invoked using the keyboard with Command-Z. Redo is also in the Edit menu and can be done with the Command-Shift-Z keyboard shortcut.

I have no earlier version available for testing, but am confident 9.2 is when the feature I've noted was added. I regularly invoke the Undo keyboard shortcut just as a habitual response to a mistake, and I never witnessed the behavior prior to 9.2.

[crarko adds: I tested this, and it works as described.]

Bravo! For me, deleting a podcast or two from playlist is no big deal. I do that after I listen to it anyway. But deleting an entire, carefully built up playlist of podcasts is a big, big pain. And every few months, thinking that I'm just deleting already heard podcasts as usual, I delete a playlist instead, leaving me furious at myself (for doing it) and Apple (for not offering an undelete).

Well, I checked and this enhancement also lets us undelete a just-deleted playlist. Thank you Apple!

I was surprised, happily, a day two ago when I deleted the playlist that feeds my Apple TV - and was able to undo.

That's great news! Thanks for sharing it. I've wanted this ever since my first Mac OSX machine.

I noticed this a couple months ago myself, and have been using it regularly since. I think it was probably added in 9.0, not 9.2, as undo/redo is a pretty significant new feature and not something likely to be added in a minor update.

It's not new to 9.2.
Undo/Redo works for playlists and songs on playlists under 9.1.1 as well.

A quick google suggests it was added with 9.1, since there are complaints about the lack of playlist undo up until late last year, but none after the release of 9.1

"What shortcut can I use if I Just want to sleep the display only?"

http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/25161/sleep-display

However you really don't need it now. Just use the keyboard command: shift+control+eject (sleep display)

To sleep the Mac use: control+option+command+eject

I found these at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1343
