Use Google secure search with LaunchBar Apps
It is a quick and easy process to change LaunchBar's Google search template to use secure search.

Open LaunchBar's index, and select 'Search Templates (UTF-8)' on the right side. Edit the 'Google' item to include 'https' in place of 'http', save, and you're done.

I suspect this is equally easy for QuickSilver and other keyboard-shortcut utilities.

[crarko adds: I haven't tested this one. We had a similar hint that covered using Gmail securely by this simple change.]

What is "Launchbar Index"?

Is this hint for Safari, Firefox, both, neither?

Neither. LaunchBar and Quicksilver are 3rd party keyboard enhancers, which many of our readers here use.

Probably the closest built-in service would be Spotlight, which can be used as a simple application launcher.

As Iras noted, several items in launchbar go by that name. Neither of the various LaunchBar's index-es I found (latest ver) would match Anonymous' description.

Unfortunately I don't use LaunchBar to be able to tell you. Hopefully our anonymous submitter will notice that the hint was posted and will chime in with a clarification.
