Snow Leopard only hintIf you're like me, you hate paying for software that does things that you think your computer should be able to do for free.

One day after I got Snow Leopard, I really need to trim a music file for my phone, to create a ringtone. I knew Quicktime X could trim movie files, but I didn't know about music files. So I opened the music file in QuickTime X, clicked Share » Trim, and saw the command was available. So I trimmed the file and went to save it, but QuickTime X didn't have an mp3 option (or any other sound extensions), so I exported it out and changed the file extension to .mp3 in the Finder.

Also, if you do this with an extension other than mp3, remember you must use the same extension before you trimmed it.
