Solve iTunes window size issues when removing displays Apps
I support quite a few people with external displays connected to MacBook Pros. What happens is that they maximize their iTunes window for their 24" monitor at work. Then, when they go home, the iTunes window is larger than the screen on their laptop, so lots of stuff is inaccessible.

Normally, clicking the green button would resolve this problem. However, Apple has changed the behavior of the green button in iTunes. The solution is simple but not obvious: Hold down the Option key while clicking the green button. This will make iTunes size its window appropriately to the screen that it is running on.

Thank you so much for this hint! I've been struggling with this for a long time. The only solution that I had found was to change the resolution on my laptop which caused the iTunes window to resize and then change it back to what I normally run.

Also, see this closely-related hint, and how to restore the behavior so that iTunes works like other apps.

Ha ha ha, I couldn't find the green button, because it's gray in graphite view.

Still, thanks for this great hint.

My new MacBook Pro 13" has had a cranky adjustment to windows sized for the old 1920 X 1200 machine. Thus, this helps people who switch from a Mac notebook with a bigger display to one with a smaller display, even if an external monitor has never been part of the setup.
