10.6: Remove some previous replies from Mail thread

The longer an email conversation goes on, the lower the signal-to-noise ratio of new messages. Mail in Snow Leopard introduces a way to quickly highlight and delete a block of previous replies.

When you're replying to a message, single-click within a previous reply. You'll notice a gray box with an "X" in the top-left corner enclosing that reply, and any replies within it. Click the "X" to remove the selected replies. Unfortunately, it leaves the attribution and one empty line, and the logic it uses for detecting replies is a little flaky, but it's a start.

I've posted some screenshots if you're curious.

[robg adds: In 10.5, you could use this technique to remove certain blocks from forwarded HTML messages. In 10.6, it seems the feature has been extended to help trim conversations.]
