10.6: Fast forward QuickTime X at less than 2x speed Apps
A simple hint for the new Quicktime X player. Clicking the fast forward button increases video playback speed to 2x, then 4x then 8x. 2x, however, is a bit fast to watch a video.

To increment by .1x, hold down Option and click fast forward. I find 1.3x speed works well, and is very watchable. This also works for reverse.

I'm not sure if the previous commenter is trying to say this or not, but...

The modifier key to press is the "Option" key, not the Control key.

Other than that, this is a great find. I love the level of control that the Options key offers for fast forwarding/rewinding.

Control has been changed to Option in the original hint; thanks for the fix.
