10.6: Quick Look windows while using ExposÚ System 10.6
I was playing around with ExposÚ in Snow Leopard, because I really like the new algorithm (or whatever they did to change it to make it look better).

I had my cursor hovering over a window and I hit the Space Bar, and the window zoomed up, just like using Quick Look on a document in Finder. This also works when using the arrow keys to select the windows.

I can see the benefits of this for if you have a lot of small windows that look the same, or if you just want to take a quick glance at a window before proceeding to another one.

I'm not entirely sure what is meant by "the window zoomed up" but if you mean you switched to that window as if you had clicked on it, then I can confirm that works fine in 10.5, too.

Also, if that's the case, I don't know why you wouldn't just click on it if you're already moving the mouse to hover over that window.

The difference between 10.5 and 10.6 is this:

10.5: when in ExposÚ, if you press space while hovering over a window the window is activated as though clicking on it. This was especially useful for drag and drop operations.

10.6: when in ExposÚ, if you press space while hovering over a window the window is 'Quick Looked', it actually enlarges to its original size and overlaps all the other windows being displayed in ExposÚ and allows you to see the window in its full detail.

Time for me to get Snow Leopard, I guess.

This stays activated, so you do not have to press space bar for every window.

Oh Snap! And it moves around with the mouse.

Sometimes, if the ExposÚ window is just a little bigger or smaller than the actual window (something that would have never happened in 10.5), then it will just pulse the window, because the actual size is already there.

By the way, it also works if you activate ExposÚ in Spaces.

This hint shows up in the little booklet that comes with the DVD too.

They've also made spaces *much* nicer. I might actually start using it now.

Here's another cool thing, if you scroll, it moves along the windows without moving your mouse. Try it! It works with or without the quicklook effect. If you have a MultiTouch trackpad, you can four-finger down to get the exposÚ, two-finger scroll to the window you want, and then four-finger down again to select it. All without moving the mouse pointer!
