Fix battery percentage icon after undoing iPhone jailbreak iOS devices
Like many people, I jailbroke my 3G out of curiosity. I didn't find anything useful or interesting enough to keep my phone that way, so I restored my phone to factory default settings. I did notice though, that if the battery percentage display was enabled (via sbsettings or bossprefs) while jailbroken, it will remain enabled through a factory reset.

To disable, I had to re-jailbreak the phone, hide the battery percentage display, back up via iTunes, then un-jailbreak (incarcerate?), and restore from backup.

How is this any different than the setting under "Settings > General > Usage> Battery Percentage"?

Because that option doesn't exist on an un-jailbroken 3G.

It does on the 3Gs, but not on the 3G. A little strange. My theory is that the battery status reporting is more precise on the 3Gs, hence the availability of this setting.

yes, incarcerate. I don't mean to hijack, but did you have a look at Intelliscreen? Or SBSettings? or 5 icon dock? Those are the most rudimentary, but I can't imagine not finding anything interesting or useful with Jailbreaking.

I did find LockCalendar very useful, but IntelliScreen was too noisy for my tastes.

I also enjoyed being able to hide apple's built in apps that I don't use. sbsettings was great too, being able to toggle wifi and data connections was pretty slick.

Dock was WAY to superfluously graphic. No use to me there. I only have 4-5 non-apple apps on my phone, so it's not necessary to group them or have creative ways to find them anyway.

I wasn't very interested in customizing the background or icons either. Thats a matter of preference though.

But really, for me, there weren't any settings that I couldn't live without. Jailbreaking was more of an intellectual curiosity than it was an endeavor into customization. I'd used my phone without it for nearly a year, and frankly I was used to it.

Certainly Jailbreaking is interesting, but for me, its not interesting enough to stay. I'd say 90% of my use of the phone didn't change after I jailbroke.
