Get around a Google calendar and iPhone sync issue iOS devices
I wanted to have all my calendars sync between iCal, Google calendars, and my iPhone. The master copies of my calendars are the Google calendars. To sync them with iCal, I use Google's free Calaboration application.

To sync with my iPhone, I tried to follow the steps indicated on this page. The problem is that I have several calendars stored on Google. When I opened Safari on my iPhone and went to m.google.com/sync, I got a message that said "This service is not available for your device." The message was in German, since I am in Switzerland. It turns out that this webpage also allows you to choose a different language. I switched to English, and suddenly the service was available and I could continue setting up my calendars. Now all my Google calendars synchronize to my iPhone.

CalDAV

Maybe there is something I'm missing to keep you from using it, but I've found the CalDAV support in iCal and iPhone 3.0 to do this very well.

No additional software needed, adding an item in any location updates the others within a few minutes, and after it is set up I don't need to think about it, it is pretty transparent.

Very occasionally I get errors in iCal that it couldn't find a calendar, but quitting and relaunching solves it, and to think of it I haven't really seen that since iPhone 3.0 came out. Perhaps Google tightened things up on their end to stave off issues.

Ditto, CalDAV works wonders with Google Calendar on iCal. Anything I create on iCal syncs back onto Google Calendar. I especially love the delegations part for viewing friends' shared calendars.

I guess I am missing something too.

I have gcal sync to ical via caldav. But ical will NOT sync to the iphone over the air via mobileme.

So I assume you are just syncing via iTunes.

Using this workaround I have the primary gcal calendar syncing wirelessly to my iphone, instantly.

Now I would like to know how to do the same for all the additional calendars I have created via google.

I've come across quite a few of Google's Labs/Betas that specifically say that you must have your language set to US English in order for it to work.

I've never had to go to m.google.com and sync. When I make changes, they just show up on my iPhone.

Do they show up on the iPhone Calendar app?

Or are you talking about the Google App.?

Once you have it setup in iCal, you can follow this link to setup Google Cal using CalDAV on your iPhone. You basically have to create a new mail account. Here are the instructions from Google:
