If you want to use a Terminal application in full screen mode, you can try the free iTerm. Here's how I use it:
- Enable Spaces in the Exposé & Spaces System Preferences panel.
- Assign iTerm to Space 2.
- Once started, enter full screen mode with Command-Enter.
Once in full screen mode, you'll only see the menu bar if you mouse to the very top of the screen. As such, the following keyboard shortcuts are quite useful: Command-T for new tab, Command-Right (and Left) Arrow to switch between tabs; and Command-W to close the current tab. If you go to Bookmarks » Manage Profiles, you can change the fonts and backgrounds.
