While there's an existing hints that covers merging two iCal calendars, I found a method of easily merging more than two calendars into a single calendar:
- Create a new calendar group (Command-Shift-N) and give it the name you want your merged calendar to have.
- Drag all of the target calendars into this group.
- Click on the group to select it, then choose File » Export as Calendar.
- Delete the group by control-clicking on it and choosing Delete from the contextual menu.
- Choose File » Import, and accept the defaults on the dialog that comes up. Select New Calendar as the destination calendar.
Your new calendar should have all of the events from each of the target calendars, and you can then delete the exported file once you're sure it worked.
[robg adds: You may wish to leave the existing calendars in place until after successfully importing the new calendar, just in case something goes wrong -- or as an alternative, make sure you have a recent backup of your iCal data files before trying this hint. It worked fine for me, though, when I tested it.]
