Remove anti-aliasing from accessibility zoom System
Normally when you use the zoom feature it interpolates pixels so that at high zooms it looks incredibly blurry. However, the key-combination Option-Command-\ will turn off this feature so that you can zoom fully without blurriness.

[robg adds: This is documented in one of the choices on the Options screen of the Zoom section of the Seeing tab of the Universal Access System Preferences panel. But I'm not sure how many folks have ever drilled down into that panel, so I decided to run this one...]

Er… just an ass of a comment contributing little to the hint but still: anti-alias is a complete different thing: quoting wikipedia, "minimizing the distortion artifacts known as aliasing when representing a high-resolution signal at a lower resolution" (exactly the opposite of what zooming into the desktop is accomplishing).

"Interpolation" or "smoothing" would be a better term (valid for both high to low rez and low to high rez I guess).

I don't understand why Apple tries to make the GUI resolution-independent but then does not use this to render the zoomed screen. That would look awesome!

Well, maybe it's just not yet ready for primetime.

It should be noted that this shortcut can be changed in the "Keyboard and Mouse" Preference Pane.
