10.5: Avoid a Stacks/Dock/FontExplorer X crash issue Apps
I was having an issue with the Dock crashing in 10.5.2, taking Dashboard and Spaces with it, whenever I clicked on a stack -- unless the stack was set to list view, or the folder was completely empty.

Turns out, it's all related to LinoType FontExplorerX. If you quit that app, everything works well. You can run the program to load and unload fonts; just don't click the Dock while it's running. I'm not pro enough to diagnose it further, but at least I can work around it until there's a fix.

There's an update available for LinoType FontExplorer X – ver. 1.2.3 build 833 that apparently fixes this. I was having the same problem until FontExplorer prompted me to update – now it seems to work fine.

Thank you very much.
Indeed it helped.
I've installed the new FontExplorer (1.2.3 b833) and it solved my problem with Spaces under OS 10.5.2 which caused system prefs to crash.
