After upgrading my wife's iBook to Leopard, she discovered that her main iCal calendar wasn't showing up in iCal anymore. A quick check showed that double-clicking the .ics file didn't help, so I dragged the file (Library/Calendars/Sue.ics) to the desktop and double-clicked it again.
It took iCal about two minutes to start at that point, but when it finally came up, it asked if I wanted to import the ics file into an existing calendar or a new calendar. I chose new calendar and, presto, all her calendar data was back in place.
