10.5: Create copies of files from Preview's drawer Apps
One of the behaviors that has changed in Preview from Tiger to Leopard is the dragging of thumbnails from the side drawer.

In the Tiger version of Preview, dragging a thumbnail out of the drawer would cause it to disappear in a puff of smoke, but the original file wouldn't be touched -- similar to what happens when you drag something out of the Dock.

In the Leopard version of Preview, dragging a thumbnail out of the drawer will copy that file to the place where you drag it -- very useful for scrolling through lots of images and picking your favorites.

10.4: You can do similar

In 10.4's Preview, you have to drag the icon at the TOP of the window, and use the appropriate key modifier. The default is to copy a link, but you hold down CMD (I think) to get an actual copy of the file, etc.

I often forget and try to drag from the sidebar and end up now having no access to that file from Preview. Glad it's a bit more intuitive in Leopard! (But don't feel left out Tiger-users!)
