10.5: A fix for Photoshop Elements and 10.5.1 Apps

Many people have had problems with certain Photoshop products and Leopard. For me, Photoshop Elements 3 stopped launching as of 10.5.1. It would reach the end of its launch sequence, and die with a bus error. Over on the Apple Discussions forum, I found a solution that worked for me:
  1. Create a new Admin user.
  2. Log in as the new user.
  3. Install Photoshop Elements from your original disc.
I was skeptical, but it worked for me.

yes, it makes it work for all accounts.

I found that as long as the user who wants to use PSE is an administrator on the Mac, all they need to do is re-install and it works again... At least, this is what we did for my wife and its all good now.

I wish I could say this solution worked for me but it didn't. I am on PSE2 and just upgraded to Leopard. With the upgrade in system software, all operation of PSE stopped. I've tried reinstalling from original disks even under a new admin account as suggested but the program quits at the end of its launch sequence without fail.

Would be interested to hear of other solutions, assuming there are any, or alternate programs...

Please advise. Thanks.
