Last night I was working on some homework in TextEdit and did not save it before my wife switched to her account. I wasn't worried, I usually do not shut my computer off. She asked if I was done, and shut it down from her side when I said I was. We know one another's password so no problem.

See where the problem arises? I did not save my work. The good news is, when I restarted and logged in today I opened TextEdit resigned to start over again on my work. But it was right there, waiting for me.

The preferences for setting how often it autosaves is under Preferences » Open and Save. Saved my hide thats for sure!
