10.5: View winmail.dat files in Mail.app 3.1 Apps
I previously used the information contained in this older hint to view mail messages stored in Microsoft's TNEF or winmail.dat format. The Command-[ keystroke provided by the past hint no longer works in Leopard.

Not to worry, Mail can still display the text contents of these messages with the keystroke Command-Option-P, which in the menu, is the View » Message » Plain Text Alternative item.

The Apple Mail Plug-in OMiC process Microsoft Outlook winmail.dat files.

Second the motion on OMiC. You do nothing; it automatically converts winmail.dat files so that they're presented as Mac-readable.

I just downloaded OMiC, but it doesn't have a Leopard install option -- just Panther and Tiger.

It looks promising, but in the meantime, I'm opening these manually using TNEF's Enough.

Command-[ and Command-] have been replaced by Command-Option-[ and Command-Option-] in Leopard. Apparently switching between plain text and HTML was too easy, so they made us press an extra key to do it :(

Of course, if you want you can always change the keyboard shortcuts back in System Preferences.

This one doesn't work for me. Mail shows the winmail.dat file as an attachment in the message, but when I click on View>Message, Plain Text Alternative is greyed-out.

What am I doing wrong?
