10.5: Change System Preferences Displays icon Apps
To change the Displays icon in System Preferences to display your actual computer, navigate into: Open another Finder window, and navigate into this folder: Replace (after backing it up, of course) the Displays.icns file in the first window with an icon from the second window -- preferably one matching your computer from the com.apple. series. You might need to empty your system caches before it starts showing up. This is a system hack, so as always, please back up before doing anything dangerous.

This hint would be a lot cooler with a link to an image of the changes you made!

This is all well and good until Apple starts forcing code signing on all its apps. Change that icon, then BAM! System Preferences doesn't work anymore.

Just something to keep in mind.

Cool hint, because now my harddisk-icon shows my MBP. I opened the *.icns with Preview, copied the biggist image to clipboard and pasted it into the information window of my harddisk.
