Remove Quicksilver's splash screen Apps
Splash screens annoy me, so I tried to disable the one in Quicksilver using its preferences. But there is no option there to do so. Then I came up with a simple solution to remove it -- and this should work on other programs with splash screens you'd like to remove. Here we go:
  1. Quit Quicksilver.
  2. Navigate to where your Quicksilver application is (normally the Applications folder).
  3. Control-click on Quicksilver and choose Show Package Contents from the pop-up menu.
  4. Go to Contents » Resources and trash (or rename) the QSLigature.png file
  5. Relaunch Quicksilver.
No more splash screen! These steps are related to the version 3813, but should work on older versions as well. Make sure to duplicate Quicksilver before following thsese steps just in case anything goes wrong -- or you could just download it again.

Even easier...

If you have it load on startup - just tick the "Hide" checkbox in the Login Items for Quicksilver in your account.

Uncheck "Superfluous visual effects" in quicksilver's preferences.

If you uncheck "Superfluous visual effects" in the Appearance area of the preferences, the splash screen will be disabled. This is what I prefer.

Yes but then you loose the fade-out effect once you hit the enter key...
It's not a big deal, I agree, but somehow it makes QS feels less like... being a part of the OS...

If "other programs" are concerned, don't trash the file. Move it outside the application package and put it back if the application appears broken.
