Numbers '08 advanced paste multiple cells behavior Apps
Very few hints about Numbers have shown up, but there are things that are really cool and useful about the new spreadsheet application. Although it is documented that the copy/paste mechanism in Numbers replaces the "Fill Down/Up/Left/Right" mechanism in Excel (ie; from the help, "You can also paste a cell's content into multiple cells..."), you can actually paste multiple cells into any number of other multiple cells. In other words, if the target number of cells is n cells larger than the source (x), Numbers '08 will fill the rest of the target cells (starting at x+1) by a repeating pattern modeled after the original cells.

For example, you copy two cells, with a and b in them respectively (ie; a, b). If you then select six cells and paste, you will get (a, b, a, b, a, b). If you paste into five cells you will get (a, b, a, b, a). If you copy (a, b, c) and paste into eight cells, you will get (a, b, c, a, b, c, a, b), etc...
