Two new OS X 10.5 polls posted - vote now! Site News
New polls up! We're just over a week away from OS X 10.5's release, so I thought it might be interesting to see what your plans are relative to when you'll be buying it and how you'll be installing it.

Spread the word; I think it would be interesting to get a large number of votes prior to the release (no registration required to vote) to get a sense of the community's plans. My plans? Well, I think I need to be running it ASAP (to test the hints, natch), and I typically always do clean installs of major OS releases.

I missed the option: Never, I will be downloading it ASAP when it becomes available.

I hope that's never so thieves like you can't steal it while the rest of us legally pay for it.

Well some of us can download it legally from Apples Developer Connection. Please don't call us thievs. ;) Meanwhile, I get your point and agree with you, piracy sucks.

I'm only waiting til next month to force myself to stick to the budget. I've already spent my "play money" from the budget, so it'll have to wait until next month.

ALso gives me a chance to clean up all the junk on my laptop before making the switch. I once had an iBook with a 30 GB drive and managed to work perfectly fine. My MacBook Pro has 120GB, and I only have 30GB of that free. Aside from now downloading video versions of podcasts instead of the mp3 versions like I used to, there's no reason I should have so much less available space. The video podcasts only take up maybe 1 GB max, and that's a stretch, and they get deleted upon view, and I only keep the latest episode.

I think that HD space is similar to income. The more you have, the more you seem to need to survive.

Damn, I don't understand how I survived with only 30 GB before.

How do I actually vote?
Authored by: sharakan on Oct 19, '07 10:06:33AM

Okay, I'm clearly missing something obvious. I click on the links to either poll & all I get are the results; I don't see anyplace where I can actually vote!

How do I actually vote?

Try loading the actual page -- do you see results, or a votable poll? If you see results and haven't voted, I *think* it's because the polling software uses IP-based cookies -- and if you have a shared public IP (say at your office), someone else may have used your vote...

Ahh, that's probably it; I'm in the office. I'll try again from home.

Upgrade Eligible?
Authored by: Quantumstate on Oct 20, '07 05:23:13AM

Well I bought my MBP used in ~July. The guy I bought it from bought it in December, 2006.

I think you are eligible for a free upgrade for a period after the computer is bought. Would I be eligible?
