Access iPhoto '08 Library From Adobe Bridge Apps
iPhoto '08 now stores its photo library as a package in the ~/Pictures folder (or whatever folder you've chosen for your photos). Adobe Bridge cannot penetrate this structure, but this problem can be easily avoided.

In the Finder, navigate to the iPhoto Library, control-click and select Show Package Contents from the pop-up folder. Now create an alias for the Modified and/or Original folders within the package (your preference) and drag it/them to another folder on your drive.

In Adobe Bridge, navigate to the alias(es) and browse the directories as usual.

[robg adds: This solution should work for other programs that have difficulty peering into the new iPhoto library structure, but allow you to manually point to it via a file dialog.]

Access Aperture Library From Adobe Bridge?

Great idea!!!

Does anyone know if this will work with Aperture also?

If so, it might also work from a remotely accessed computer...

In the forums somebody suggested dragging the two folders into the sidebar instead of making aliases. Some people may find that more convenient.

Access iPhoto '08 Library From Adobe Bridge

I just tried this method using Bridge CS3 on Leopard. When I open the alias for Originals, I see the years. When I double-click on a year to open it, I get the spinning beachball then Bridge dies...

My iPhoto 08 does not contain Original or Modified folders
Authored by: Philipa on Aug 04, '09 09:09:03PM

Hi there,

Thanks for the advice. I have iPhoto 08 but the pop-up folder you referred to does not contain any folders named Original or Modified. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am keen to access my iPhoto images in Bridge and then Photoshop.

Cheers and thanks,

Philipa
