Temporarily override Safari 3's 'close all tabs' warning
Jul 16, '07 07:30:06AM • Contributed by: Anonymous
In Safari 3, Apple added a feature to warn you when you close multiple tabs. This is a good feature, and can be turned off if not wanted. But I like to be able to have it on as a safety net, but not be annoyed by it when I know I want to quickly close Safari. So, to bypass the warning just once, hold down the Option key when closing a browser window with multiple tabs open.

Temporarily override Safari 3's 'close all tabs' warning
Unfortunately this doesn't work for the "You have entered text ... " warning that has made Safari 3 somewhat annoying with backpack & other ajax-laden web apps. I'd love to know a hint that lets me bypass that warning as well.

Agreed. I have written to Apple about this problem. I hope it is fixed by the time Leopard is released.

Yeah, the warning about having entered text is driving me insane. Thankfully the Option-click trick works on it as well, but it's still a pain in the ass.

Try entering
in Terminal. Note: I haven't tested this myself.
Unable To Close Specific Tabs
After delaying the install for Safari 3, I finally did it--and now half the time it creates new windows for opening links instead of just a new tab. |
