This works on all iPods. I can do this with my 2G iPod nano in iTunes 7.2.

This has been around for some time. What is new is the great status box you can get in the iPhone itself showing how the storage space is being used. Very nice.

It's been around for a long time if one's been using the various iPod models. The iPhone's only been around about a week. So, this may be a novel feature for a lot of people.

I think a really great hint would be how one finds this great status box I can get on my iPhone. Ah! Here it is: Settings -> General -> About

Not only that but the CrashReporter in console lists /MobileDevice/(iphoneName)
reports of when your ipod crashed. So that's what happened when my photo got stuck.
