Enable a circular page loading indicator in Safari 3 Web Browsers
Safari 3 has a hidden option to show a circular progress indicator within each tab as it's loading. A nice option, and to enable it, quit Safari and then type this in Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugUsePieProgressIndicator -bool true
Credits to this Flickr page, which shows you what the progress indicator looks like.

Enable a per-tab loading progress indicator in Safari 3

How is this indicator "per-tab"? What I see is a pie indicator for the current tab on top of the favicon, plus the usual grey wheel that has been displayed on each tab since Safari has them.

I think this is talking about the pie-like indicator in the Address Bar in place of the website's icon, rather than the spinning indicator within each tab which is always there without any special settings.

Unfortunately this is not on a per-tab basis, but I do like it better than the traditional progress bar that merely highlights the address box. My family doesn't recognize this as the progress bar, they just think it is text highlighting, and this is a little more obvious yet still unobtrusive compared to progress bars at the bottom of the browser window.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Shiira yet. Shiira 2 is still way too rough for my tastes, but Shiira 1 is pretty good. Both have a per tab progress indicator.

Sorry, do not like this.
Leaves your tabs show all the time, cannot hide them. I use safaristand and do not want to always show my safari tabs.

I guess it would be:

defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugUsePieProgressIndicator -bool false

(false instead of true)

correct me if I'm wrong. I don't have Safari 3 yet... :(

Has anyone been able to get this feature to work in Safari 3.1?
