I'm excited to see Google take a bite out of MS Office, but I was bummed to see that Google Apps didn't support Safari. However that all changed with the public beta of Safari 3. Hmmm ... Office-like tools through Safari 3, and perhaps also through my iPhone. Nothing to do but switch to Safari 3, load some Google Apps such as Docs and Spreadsheets, and start working.

Use Google Apps with Safari 3 public beta
The version of WebKit used in the iPhone is newer than Safari 2, but appears to have been branched off from the nightlies some months ago. See here. I believe the Google apps were working in the WebKit nightlies over a year ago, so there's a good chance the iPhone will support them.
Use Google Apps with Safari 3 public beta
I'm using Safari 3.0 and I'm getting a message that Safari is not supported when I try and upload a spreadsheet. I also get the message 'This page uses frames, but your browser doesn't support them.'

And I know it's the "in" thing to whack on Microsoft, but these apps are not even CLOSE to comparison. Things like the Audio feature of Word (notebook) in the Mac version are essentally God's gift to conference calls. And on and on. With the exception of Entourage, comparing the Google Apps to Office for Mac is like comparing a Pinto to a Mercedes.
Use Google Apps with Safari 3 public beta
At the risk of being off-topic, I'll point out that it's questionable whether the general Google-Safari incompatibilities that have helped nudge many of us toward Firefox are a matter of "Google Apps [not supporting] Safari" or Safari not supporting Google features that have long been available through other browsers, both proprietary and open-source. I don't have the reference at hand, but Google and Apple have at last been having what sound like fairly high-level engineering talks for some time on resolving this, and with any luck we can expect continued improvements in compatibility. Best to all, M.
Use Google Apps with Safari 3 public beta
I was surprised to see that Google Talk STILL does not work in Safari 3. That was my main reason for leaving to Firefox..

Google Spreadsheet doesn't work for me with Safari 3. The dialog says Safari cant open the page. Docs do work though. |
