Access HFS+ volumes in Vista and Windows

The problem is that when using Boot Camp and booted into OS X, you can't write to your Vista partition -- it is read only. When you are booted into Vista, you can't read or write from the HFS+ volume you have all your files on. So frustrating -- I was copying things to the server, my USB drive, etc., just to get things on to the PC partition.

The easy solution, for half the problem at least? Buy MacDrive 7 for $50 and install on Vista. Now you can read and write your HFS+ volume! I even played back movie files, and it worked fine.

[robg adds: We've only mentioned MacDrive here in one previous tip on an unrelated subject. For write access to Vista from OS X, you could try using MacFUSE as described in this hint to make NTFS volumes writable. If you know of other cross-OS access methods, please post in the comments -- in particular, I'm not aware of a free solution on the Windows/Vista side...]
