How to make certain video files appear in Front Row

I've seen lots of hints about getting video stored in external locations to show up in iTunes and Front Row ... but here's one I haven't seen.

To get a video that is not supported by iTunes -- say, a DivX-encoded AVI file -- to show up in either spot, open the video in QuickTime Player. (You must have a Quicktime Pro key for this to work.) Go to File &rquoa Save as, and click the Save as a reference movie radio button.

When you're done, you can drag your reference movie into iTunes, select TV Show or Movie under the Video tab in the Get Info window for the file, and enter your show information. When you open Front Row, your video will appear under TV Shows or Movies as appropriate, and will start playing the original file when opened.

The best part is that you get to keep your actual video clips in that 500GB external Firewire HD, with the reference file being as small as 700K-1.2M in size...
