Access all mounted devices in Parallels Apps
I set up a shared folder in Parallels (use Edit mode on the virtual machine), and pointed it to /Volumes. Now all mounted devices are available in Windows via the Parallels Shared Folders shortcut.

[robg adds: This is a good alternative to creating shares for specific folders, as it gives you access to everything.]

Is there any chance doing this could be a security risk? I'm not 100% clear on how much access Parallels actually gets, but if a virus hits your Windows installation, could it wipe your OS X volumes with this setup?

Unless you specifically select the "read-only" checkbox in the Parallels configuration, then yes, this could definitely be a security risk. The benefit to setting up "Shares" is that you can mitigate potential damage if some malware on the Windows side decides to wipe the networked folders it has access to.

This is definitely a security hazard. You can, of course, make specific and permanent links to individual items such as your thumbdrive with /Volumes/yourdrivename

To improve the ease of using these share drives, and to satisfy my alliterative leanings, I map my shared folder to S: and my thumb drive to T:

The latter may become irrelevant if the USB support improves.
