Reclaim disk space from iDVD and GarageBand

Have you ever wondered about why iDVD got so small over time? The first time I used iDVD (in 10.2.x / iLife 2003, I think) the application used up around 1.5GB of hard disk space. Now I've just bought a new MacBook and noticed, with joy, that iDVD had shrunk to around 72mb. But my illusion vanished about one week ago, when I was using Disk Inventory X, that the two biggest folders on my hard drive were called iDVD and GarageBand -- 1.6GB for iDVD and 1.9GB for GarageBand. Both of these folders were located in /Library/Application Support. Maybe not a strange place to put it, but not the first place I would look for unnecessary stuff to delete, to free up disk space.

So if you're not an iDVD or GarageBand user, you can get a nice chunk of drive space back by deleting, moving, or maybe compressing those two folders with the top level Application Support folder.
