Store application passwords and serials with the program

I have a lot of trouble with passwords. Generally when I register a program, I get the password and if I then have to re-install a program, it's a case of "where did I put that stupid password?"

To overcome this problem, I now Control-click on the program in question, and choose Show Package Contents from the pop-up menu. I then create a text file with the password within the package itself. When the program is then backed up, it's stored with its associated password. I now find it much easier to locate that password when I need to reinstall the program in the future.
