Save bookmarks from Safari directly into Yojimbo Web Browsers
If you like to store bookmarks in Yojimbo, my Bookmark in Yojimbo AppleScript, which I wrote for Safari, might come in handy. The script provides an alternate bookmark dialog that saves a bookmark for the current page directly into Yojimbo. You can also opt to display the new bookmark in Yojimbo if you would like to edit its other attributes.

More information (and any source updates) are available on my site -- including an already-compiled version of the script.

Differences between this script and default bookmarklets
Authored by: anoved on Nov 22, '06 10:31:54AM

Indeed, Yojimbo does come with Javascript bookmarklets that perform a similar function (as acknowledged on the script's page). However, there are a few differences: the bookmarklets always bring Yojimbo to the front, and they do not allow you to set the name under which the bookmark will be saved (although you can of course edit it in Yojimbo). On the other hand, there is a bookmarklet that lets you set tags before saving, which is nice.

I prefer to use this script because it more closely models the behavior of Safari's "Add Bookmark" function: you can set the bookmark's name prior to saving, and you can continue browsing without looking at the bookmarks (unless you choose to).

Update for Yojimbo 1.4
Authored by: anoved on Jan 31, '07 07:31:23PM

I've made a very minor update to this script to let it work better with Yojimbo 1.4. It's available at the same location linked above. You'll need the Yojimbo 1.4.1 update to use the "Bookmark & Edit" feature.

I've released another minor update to this script. Version 1.2 checks for duplicate bookmarks and adds Firefox support. Available at the same address.
