Change Microsoft Office personalization, revisited Apps
This older hint showed you which files to remove to change the Microsoft Office 2004 Personalization values.

An easier way to do this is the lauch the Remove Office application in the Additional Tools Folder in your Microsoft Office folder. After you lauch the application, hold the Option key down. The Continue button will change to read "Remove License Info Only." I haven't tested this with Office v.X, however.

You can also run the Office setup assistant from the CD and reenter all your personal info.

Works for Office X Too!

We tested this, and can confirm the Remove Office tool will allow a reset of serial numbers in Microsoft Office X too.

Plus a tip: What if you need to change the serial number for Microsoft Office X, and don't have access to 2004's Remove Office tool? Download the free Office 2004 Test Drive which includes the needed Remove Office tool

Screen shots of this technique are now up on our blog at CreativeIQ.com.

If, after performing the reinstall, you get error messages about "an unexpected Microsoft framework error" occurring, then you may need to run the Microsoft auto update tool.
