How to play movies while downloading in iTunes 7 Apps
When downloading content from the iTunes music store, depending on your bandwidth it might take more than 30 minutes. But not to worry, you can now watch the things you're downloading as they download.

Whenever the Downloads list shows up under the store section in iTunes 7, you can open up the interface by clicking on Downloads, and then selecting the item that is downloading -- double-click to open that particular download. It will open up, and you can watch the content as it's downloading. Try it now with an iTunes account and some of the free content (US store only). Hopefully this helps people with not quite greatest bandwidth.

[robg adds: This was mentioned in the iTunes PR event, but the process for watching while downloading doesn't seem to be documented in Help. And yes, it's relatively simple, but not necessarily obvious, so now it's documented.]

One caveat that is worth mentioning - this does not work from Shared Libraries. So if you have a wireless entertainment network set up, you have to wait for the download to complete before you can use it from a node in iTunes or Front Row. Boo?

Not exactly related but similar, Itunes 7 now downloads albums 3 files concurrently, So it d/ls 3 files at once then jumps to the next 3 when those finish.

with my cable line i d/led an album in like 5 seconds.
