Force iTunes 7 to import duplicate music files

iTunes 7 has a new feature that prevents duplicates. It prevents you from importing the same song twice. When you drag the same song from the Finder into the iTunes window a second time, nothing happens, no warning, no error message or anything. The problem is that sometimes iTunes thinks a song is a duplicate when it is not. This can happen with songs with similar names, or with different versions of the same song. I'm not sure how iTunes makes the determination.

To force iTunes to import the song anyway, drag the song from the Finder into the iTunes window as you would normally do, but before dropping the song into iTunes, hold down the Option key.

By the way, you can have iTunes scan your library for duplicates by pulling down the View menu and choosing Show Duplicates.
